I want your opinion on this.
Would this:
The black hood, roof and spoiler black, but on this car:
I still need to find better wheels. But there are none for sale.

I think so.

Its been done for years, there is precedent! The only difference is the roof is black on the MR2. You want to paint it red/blk or just the black on the current color?

I honestly don't know. I'm leaning towards no as the red/black contrast seems to work better than a silver/black contrast. I'd recommend (regardless) buying a second hood and trunk to paint so you can easily revert it if you want, or if you keep the car long enough that it appreciates and someone wants a stock model.

Black with the current colour.

I always try to photoshop it from a couple angles and see how I feel.

I wouldn't do it. :/

Black hood yes, black rear B pillar no.
I think the silver looks better anyway. If It was me, I'd do a black assymetric stripe going from one popup headlight over the roof, and then black out the aero/trim at the bottom.

I think your car looks too clean to mess with, but hey it's not my car. I totally understand wanting to lose the brown, but I think it looks great.

http://www.3dtuning.com/ is your friend. Try it, see how it looks! (No garuntees your exact car will be on there but it's worth a look).

It is probably because of the photo, but this car is brown.

Oooh, yeah, the photo makes it look silver.
Paint it silver.
